What an exciting night! I
What an exciting night! I ushered the LAST men's basketball game. =( It was an important game, though. Against Indiana, and if Indiana won, they'd be 11-4 and Big Ten Champions. If the Illini won, BOTH teams would be 10-5 and Co-Big Ten Champions. Guess what? The Illini won!!! WOOHOO!! It was soooo exciting. Very physical game, as well. Three technicals on Indiana. I'd never seen anyone get a technical in all the games I've ushered. It was also the seniors' last game. At the very end, they put all 5 seniors in (even Damir, who has been hurt almost all season. Sadness), and then with 3 seconds to play, they pulled out all the seniors and put in 5 guys who almost NEVER play. Heehee. That was cute as well. So Illinois is off to Indiana for the championships.
The excitement was off the court, also. Since we had that snowstorm, people were tracking in snow left and right and the floor was ALL wet. People were slipping EVERYWHERE. It was kind of scary. One girl fell in the portal next to mine and smacked her head pretty good. =( She was okay, though. But people were falling down the stairs, slipping on the ramps, even slipping on the flat parts. And they kept telling me "There's a really slippery spot right there" or "there's a slippery stair about ten rows up, and five or six people have fallen on it." I mean, thanks for sharing, but the entire ARENA is slippery, 20,000 people are trying to leave... what, exactly, do you want me to do about it now? Lol. Oh well. I sympathized. =/
