Today was a pretty good
Today was a pretty good day. Both sets of grandparents came over for lunch and we spent a lot of time listening to stories of their teenage years, most of which I had never heard before. It was so cool. To hear my Grandma Peggy talk about when Grandpa Jim drove her to pick up the prizes for Bingo Night at church, and she came out of the store and there was a police man there trying to give him a ticket for making an illegal left turn, or something, and she said "Please, Officer, don't give him a ticket. He's only fifteen, he doesn't have a license, and my dad doesn't even know he has the car!!" LOL. The policeman told him to go straight home and not take the car out again until he was 16 and had a license. Lol. Nowadays you'd get taken to the police station and your parents would be called and you'd get a ticket. Heehee. And my Grandpa Phil told us about when he had a REAL old Ford, the kind with the spoked wheels and hard tires, and the tires used to get stuck in the streetcar tracks in Chicago. One time it was real icy and he got them stuck and he couldn't get out and the car started spinning, and to see my little Grandma Jennie nodding her head and laughing and saying "I was going Wheeeeeeee!!!!" Lol. It was TOO CUTE.
So after that, we watched some olympics and then Jess and I went to Best Buy because they were having a sale this weekend. I bought the widest variety of CDs. My grandparents (Peggy and Jim) just got a new car with a CD player, and they've never had a CD player before. So I got them Elvis singing hymns, then I bought Meredith Edwards, A Walk to Remember, and Innis. We've got the old Elvis, the country, the pop soundtrack, and the Latin. Lol. But when I saw Innis, I gasped real loud and said "They have INNIS!!!" And Jess said "Who is Innis?" and I said "He's HOTT!" and this lady turned around and burst out laughing. Woops! Heehee. But now I'm going to listen to Innis and see if he's as good as he is good-looking. <.g>
