Whew. What a weekend! And
Whew. What a weekend! And it's only Saturday night. Man. Yesterday, Shelley, Aarti and I went up towards home. We ended up having to drop Shelley off, but Aarti came back with me. We saw Beautiful Mind. GREAT movie, even though I can't STAND Russell Crowe (however you spell his name... I don't care enough to look it up. lol).
Okay, so the reason we were going home was to buy tickets for the *NSYNC concert, right? Well, they had told us each time we called that there was NO April 5th concert, and Shelley's dad had gotten us tickets to the April 4th concert already, so we didn't really need to go buy tickets. I got this grand idea that Tammy and Dorothy might want to go, though, so I called, and they did, so I offered to buy them tickets. Off to Allstate we went, about 10:30. Tix went on sale at 10. When we got there, the place was deserted. So I went up to the guy and asked him for two tickets, and he was like "Which night?" I said "What do you MEAN which night?" I am PISSED that they flat-out LIED to me about there not being a Friday concert. I SO would have gotten in line earlier. Grrrrr. Turns out tons of people had camped out, and even THEY didn't get such great seats, since there had been so many people there. So I got Tam and Dor (and Jess and I) tickets for the April 5th concert as well. Even though we're in the section BEHIND the floor. Grrr. I HOPE the tickets Shelley's dad got us were good. I really wish I knew where they were. I like to have control over things. If I had gone to stand in line and hadn't been able to get good seats for the 4th, that would be under MY control, ya know? But since someone ELSE got them and I can't KNOW where they are, it's driving me batty. I can't stand not knowing things. Like, regardless of goodness of seats, if I'd been the one to get bad seats, whatever. I'd have done the best I could. But since I don't know, I can't know if standing in line (which would be something I could control) would have been better.... ugh. Lol. I'm a freak, I know.
Anyway. Basically I'm THRILLED there is a Friday concert, even if our seats are not good. They were still cheaper than our *awful* seats this summer. lol. AND we have the chance to go to a soundcheck. If it had only been Thursday, there would have been NO way. So now there is a chance. Woohoo! And TONY LUCCA IS OPENING!!! Do you know how excited I am about this??? I can't WAIT to see what he has been up to these past couple years. So, all in all, it was good. A good day. After the whole ticket deal we went to Woodfield and did some quick shopping, took Aarti to the train, and Shelley (who had met us at Woodfield) and I went back to my house. Then we went down to Chicago to meet up with Aarti and her sister Anjali and went to dinner at this cute Mexican restaurant, and then the three of us headed back to Champaign. WHEW! Long day.
