A double birthday and more!
Wow, two for one, here!
HAVE TO WISH A VERY HAPPY 24th to NICOLE S. and MICHELLE!!
I hope your respective birthdays were wonderful. *wink*
I feel like I've been so very busy since I last posted. Which is good, I guess. On Wednesday, was it? Dinner with Em and Meg, which was nice. Saw my AP US History teacher from high school. Heh. But good to hang with the girls and catch up.
On Friday, I went to dinner and to see Miracle with Megan-from-Wheaton (not to be confused with Meg/Meghan). Great flick! I was worried it was going to be all sugary-sappy, but it was not. Just a feel-good movie about Olympic hockey. I almost wish I'd been around for the actual game, but alas, I was not born yet. Lol. Oddly enough, the movie made me really want to put in The Cutting Edge, which is, hands down, my all-time favorite Olympic-themed movie. Toe piiiiiiiiick!
Was out late (for me, on a work night), and had to be at work on Saturday. I left straight from work and drove down to Champaign with D, one of the tellers. She was a last-minute addition, as her sister goes to school at U of I, and I didn't have CDs to listen to in the car. Ha. It was nice to have someone to talk to on the trip. I dropped D off at the Six Pack and headed to The Office in Urbana, where Sarah and Brad were watching the Illinois v. Penn State game. Illini won. Woohoo! I'd not been to the Office before, so that was neat. Aarti arrived in time to catch the end of the game, and the four of us made our way to Dos Reales for some dinner. YUM! I miss that place! Best Mexican food ever.
After dinner, we decided to hit the Union for some bowling. Good times! You have to score the games yourself there (and I won the second one! Whoo!), but nothing beats $2.25 per game. I mean, I played two games AND rented shoes for a total of $5.75. After the bowling, we dropped Sarah and Brad off at their apartment and went to Danville, where Aarti and I met up with Shif to see Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Cute movie. Not exactly what I thought it was going to be about, but cute just the same. And! $5.50! So basically, for just over $11, I had an entire night of entertainment. Central Illinois is so inexpensive, it's great! *g*
Of course, Aarti and I were up talking until the weeeee hours of the morning, and then, inexplicably, I woke up at 7. We had some of Aarti's mom's fabulous food for breakfast, and headed out the door about 10. Aarti had to be at work, and I had to pick D back up and get home in a timely manner.
Got D about 11, and we headed for home. Since I had to take her back to Naperville, we had a little adventure finding the "quickest" route home. Heh. I made it back to my house about 3, and had to pick Meghan up at 3:45 to head to Batavia to see Gen in her play.
The play was very good. The Heiress. Gen played Maria, and she was the best darn maid ever! The theatre, too, was really cute. The audience sat in couches and armchairs, which was fun. It was definitely good times, and I'm so glad I got to finally see Gen in a play! ;) After the show, Meg and I went to dinner with Gen and her mom. The service was awful, but it was really nice to catch up with them.
All in all, it's been a very busy but very enjoyable week. However, I am now paying for it dearly. With the utter lack of sleep I have had of late, I am now sick. :( I feel awful. My boss even sent me home from work today at 1! Can you believe it? She insisted I go to the doctor. Which I did, and which was a waste of my time and my insurance company's money. Oh well. I have "a viral infection" and have to just watch to make sure my symptoms don't get worse in the next few days. I could have done without the two hours in the doctor's office. Ah well. I'm off work tomorrow, too, since right now I can't hear out of my left ear, breathe out of my nose, or swallow. Bah.
All I tried to do tonight was take a nap. Between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00, there were six phone calls. SIX! All of them sales calls! Every single one was "Out of Area" and no one left a message. I finally gave up trying to sleep, and here I am. Bah. I think I'll go to bed early, though.
Oh, one last thing.
JC'S ALBUM COMES OUT TOMORROW!
Everyone run-don't-walk to the store and buy it. I'm so excited. I feel like a proud mother. Hee. Mah boy's all grown up with his very own solo album! He may not have the mass support that Timberlake kid has, but I think JC's music is a little more my speed. If the clips I heard this summer are any indication, anyway. Someone for everyone but no one for me, constantly searching for the one I need to build my world around. Doesn't your heart just ache for him with that line? Mine does. Eee! Can't wait to hear it in its entirety.
And now, NyQuil and bed.
Comments
Hey Kater-- With regards to JC's CD--I hear that it is awesome. I read a review in People or Rolling Stone (easily confused mags, I know).
Yay for your guy!
:-)
