Meet our "new" table. It's not much to look at now, but we plan to decorate it. I actually have aspirations of rearranging and "redecorating" the entire dining/living room area. We'll see if the motivation continues on through to the weekend. ;)
There's actually a funny story to go along with the table. Prior to this, if you remember, we were using a card table as our only table. We knew it was a little less-than-swanky, but it worked and it was free and yeah. Whatever. So, many months ago, V, our friend who just moved to Texas, was talking about Sims. She said she'd just built a house from scratch and wasn't using the money cheat.
V: My Sims are all white trash with ghetto furniture like ca--like... the cheapest stuff you can buy.
Me: Were you just going to say 'card tables'?
V: NO! I wasn't! Really!
Me: YOU WERE! It's okay, we know it's ghetto...
It's been a running joke. So, as her going-away gift to us, she gave us their old kitchen table. The chairs are a little rickety and might be replaced, but with a table cloth and some kind of centerpiece, it'll be cute! And wood, so. A hundred times less ghetto than a card table (which served its purpose well, I won't deny).
