My park was deserted today. There were a handful of nannies with children, a couple joggers, and a pair of guys doing some kind of martial arts. It was very pleasant! I did my usual walk, and then made a couple more loops around the eastern fields. I listened to the one Supernatural episode I managed to get onto my iPod and then switched to music.
Tucked away in the back corner, behind the soccer fields and baseball diamonds and basketball and tennis courts, is this run-down looking little fenced-off shuffle board... board. There are, I think, six...boards (what the heck do you call them?) in all. I had no idea shuffle board was a game played anywhere but on cruise ships! I wonder if anyone actually uses them, or if they're all run-down looking for a reason.
My day off was extremely productive. I did my walk, got gas for the car, and went to the mall where I got a pair of shoes I've been looking for for
weeks and a dress for the wedding (originally $254, marked down to $127, and then if I pre-bought and pick it up Tuesday, it was an additional 40% off!!). Grabbed a sandwich for lunch and sat out by the pool listening to Hell House again.
Now I'm sleepy from sun and productivity.
