yay! job!

I got my letter today from the district, saying I've officially been re-hired. Yay! I have a job! And it's with my same little girl, which I'm excited about.

Did I mention that I'm working with her again? I've told/typed it to so many people I forget where I've announced it. You know who would know if I'd mentioned it here? My mom! Because she found me here last week. Searching for, of all things, an AAC society she works for. ::waves:: hi, mom! <.g>

Last weekend was *NSYNC's Challenge for the Children. I didn't get to go, but Jennie did, and she stayed with Karey and Noora. I'm wildly jealous. <.g> But! She had a fabulous time AND she called me from the basketball game so I could hear the boys sing live for the first time in a year and a half, the second time in two and a half years. Thanks, Jennie! It totally made my day. They sounded so beautiful. I had this huge grin on my face.

I made a Sports Night soundtrack. Drop me a line if you want one. 14 songs from the show and 4 bonus tracks. 5 bonus tracks if I decide to add in what I've begun to think of as Natalie and Jeremy's theme. <.g>

Friday, we see Hilary Duff. Yay? I now own turquoise/royal blue/pink Diesel gym shoes to wear. LOL It should prove interesting.

Krissy-ish

I feel all Krissy-ish today. LOL I'm wearing a purple blouse with little purple and white daisy-like flowers on it and a purple ribbon on it, and, well, it's very much something Krissy would like. <.g>

Reading SOD, and there's a piece on the 9 hottest newcomers. One, of course, is Scott Clifton (Dillon). He cracks me up.

Who were you most excitde to meet?
"I was hugely obsessed with Sonny. The first time I saw Maurice walk by, I was like, "Oh my gosh! It's Sonny!" I was very girly."

Heee! He was very girly. He's too cute.

Speaking of, I haven't seen GH at all this week. Wonder if anything interesting is happening. I know what *will be happening, though, later this month. Should be mildly intriguing.

Last week, with Lila, was pretty well done. I liked Michael's scenes with the Qs, and LOVED seeing Kevin and Lucy again. I just wish that there had been some flashbacks with Lucy and Lila. : ( Oh, well. I was so happy that they showed both Edwards in the flashbacks. I was of the opinion that they should ignore recasts and show whatever flashbacks were best. and there ware David and John and Amber. Whee! It was a lovely tribute.

I was all Christmas cheer-y last night. Even read a few Ron/Hermione Christmas fics (NOT Ron/Harry, as it came out when I was telling mom today. LOL!! I like slash, and I like Ron/Harry, but I was searching out het this time. <.g>). Also planned with Jennie for her to come up in January to see me and snow.

Went to Borders tonight. Yay Borders!! Bought a Best of CCR CD, and a book called "Silent Night: The Story of The World War I Christmas Truce." It was the closest I'd let myself come to CHristmas, even though I saw three winter/Christmas romance novels. LOL! This was, I felt, reasonably appropriate. I wonder if my Christmas cheer has anything to do with wishing to escape the 90 degree heat. <.g>

linky money post

I am an a spending spree this month. I'm not going to be able to spend ANYTHING in August.

Today's purchases: Gorgeous tweed skirt AND!! a leather skirt. I have wanted a leather skirt since Lois wore them in 1995. I love my skirts. Plus I got this shirt, in claret. I'm going to be quite cute and broke this fall.

Tomorrow, I am going to Mario Tricoci Spa for a massage and manicure with Liss. I was supposed to go with Karey, but she couldn't get a flight. : ( Sadness.

This is after an iPod ($378), facial/pedicure ($205), amazon purchases for me and my brother ($70), etc. eeeeeeeeeeek. Lots o' money. But tomorrow is it. It, I say! Let's just hope there isn't time to wander down to Victoria's Secret and their Think Pink sale.

At least I'm getting paid $100 next weekend. That will help.

I'm reading LM Montgomery's The Alpine Path. (In digging for the link, I learned that amzon is recommending Bill Clinton's autobiography because I also recently purchased a Xena book. ::boggles::) I adore it. It's a slim little book, and quite pricey for 95 pages, but the stories! I love how many are familiar to me already because she used them in her books and stories. I see what she means about writing what you know when she does that.

Anyway, I think it's time to watch Josh Charles be a very cute college student in Threesome. Life is good.

Fall preview

I have a job for the fall! I'll be back working with my same little girl again. I'm excited. And nervous and worried and the first night the doubts aready started creeping in. LOL But I am happy about it. I love that kid, and we work well together. It should prove to be an interesting year.

Mom and Josh intended to go to an AAC camp in Wisconsin this week, starting tomorrow, but have since changed their minds. Like, this afternoon. <.g> Oh, well. I was looking forward to a week alone (watching movies, writing stories, lounging about a great deal), but it would have been very weird without them here. It'll still be a nice week. : ) My first week of summer vacation, since summer school ended last Thursday. And! Karey's coming on Friday for our weekend. I think, anyway.

I watched Girl with a Pearl Earring. I liked the book better, but ooh. Colin Firth. Can't go wrong there.

I got my new bathing suit, since our pool is up. Cute pink tankini with a little black skirt. And the skirt? A size 8. 8! I just do not understand the sizing scale. I am in no way an 8 <.g>

I am hugely back into Sports Night. Heaven help me. LOL Now I even want to write fic for it. Me! Sorkin!fic! But I adore Dan and Casey, a thousand times over, and especially love Danny. And Josh Charles. A lot. To the point where I ordered one of his early movies from amazon. <.g> And, okay, I plan on going back to Blockbuster to pick up season 1 of Six Feet Under, Peter Krause (Casey's) new show. <.g> Previously viewed DVDs, $10 each, 4 discs. Half the price on Amazon, so yay! It's a good show.

We spent Fourth of July at this neat resort (did I share that already? It feels like I did. but I don't remember), where we saw amazing fireworks and had a lovely lovely lovely time. And I watched an episode of Six Feet Under. <.g> I can't wait until we have HDTV service, and I can watch it and Queer as Folk every week.

I'm still downtairs in the office. I'm actually settling in nicely, although it's kinda annoying. I miss my room. But I'll be quite fine down here. But it is a pain in the nexk to type and such. And beyond that, I don't know, I haven't felt like sharing a lot lately. Usually I *plan on posting and mentally write out what I want to talk about, but lately, haven't even been doing that much. Not that many people even read here (my only comments are from spammers on this one poor little entry from a few years back), so I'm really only sharing with myself, but still. Something holds me back. Then I go and write this marathon entry. Guess I'm getting over it.

And.....that's me, I guess. Nothing much else to say. I had been tired and wanting sleep during "Girl" but now it's 12:30 and I'm only moderately sleepy. I have such bizarre sleeping habits.

Oooh! Tomorrow I can watch Silent Sunday on TCM! Oh, I'm so excited. I hope I don't forget!

sports night la la la la

Things have been freaking CRAZY around here lately.

1. We got new carpeting in the ENTIRE house.

2. I had to fully clear out my bedroom. (traumatic experience)

3. So I don't need to do so again in a few weeks when we paint the house, my room is currently empty until it gets painted first.

4. I moved into the guest room/office downstairs.

5. Great for privacy, less fun for running up and down stairs to have conversations. I'd rather be upstairs in my room.

6. My computer monitor is set up on the nightstand, CPU on the floor, keyboard on my lap.

7. I've fallen in love with Sports Night again. I discovered it three years ago, when I was also discovering nsync/popslash, and chose popslash as my primary fandom. Now I got Jennie into SN, which landed me firmly in the midst of it as well.

I've been watching episodes, daydreaming, reading fic, and inserted them into my Sims game. Oh, yes, this is love.

Danny's my #1 love. That's the Josh Charles that's been in my sidebar for the last three years. <.g> Casey is great, but I just want to hug Danny and never let go. LOL

8. We have digital cable, after nearly two weeks of the service not servicing. Yay for TCM! Yay for Bravo! Plus I've been watching Alton Brown daily. Yay for Alton Brown!
