letters

You know, I really don't like writing letters. Especially to people I don't know well. Even for school assignments. I just, no. Can't do it. Everything sound so stupid and fake! So I tried to inject some of my bizarre humor and sarcasm. <.shrug> I guess all I can do is hope that it's what he wanted.

So, I've written my letter and done a bit of research. Given that it's nearly noon, perhaps it's time to take a shower. LOL

countdown to finals

I only have two days of classes left this semester. Hell, I only have two classes left! Dr. Kuehn is my new best friend...not only did he cancel class on Wednesday, he let us go way early on Monday AND extended the deadline for the paper until MONDAY! WHOOO! There was much squealing in class yesterday, let me tell you. So I wrote one page yesterday, I'll write one today, and finish it all up tomorrow, since my only class is over at 11. <.happy sigh>

WHOOOO! Miggie has left evil tripod and has a new home! Go visit! : )

Speaking of homes, Alicia, Glace, and Susie are back from their nsync adventure! I can't wait for more details!! Not to mention pictures. <.g> Share the love, guys. <.g>

I had another bizarre dream last night. <.g> Two nights in a row that I remember, very odd. LOL Anyway, this time my mom and I were at the hospital for some picnic thing, like the ones we would go to for the Heart Institute with Josh every summer. But we kept running into Lance wheeling around this older man and they were singing a lot. They went up and down in the elevator like five times, while we waited for them to get off on the first floor so we could ride down in an empty car. Eventually we just took the stairs. LOL Then in the parking lot, we ran into Rosie O'Donnell and her family, and (yes, yes, I know) Kathie Lee Gifford who was complaining about something or other. <.giggle> It was a fun one again, at least. <.g>

Okay. Last night I made a schedule for the next two weeks, and accordng to it, I need to write one more page of 376 and write a letter to my writing teacher about why I should get an A in his class. Sounds pretty manageable...I only have the one class at 3 today, so I have plenty of time. Yay!

some dreams and more

I had the oddest dream last night. LOL MA and I were playing Super Mario World, but instead of using controllers to play, you were actually in the game playing. The first three levels were a blur, but then we goy to Iggy Koopa's castle, which was so organized. LOL There were all these people around, telling you where to line up and all that stuff. <.g> Then suddenly, daddy was there with me, and we were outside Iggy's chamber, watching the person ahead of me battle him. There was a door right next to it labeled "phobia exit" which you could only use if you had a phobia. I saw them fighting in the room, realized I wanted no part of it, and we ducked down the phobia exit. LOL It was so bizarre! But kinda fun. <.g>

Well, I did my two pages yesterday, so now I need two pages today. Only one class, so I can research this morning, and write this evening. Sounds pretty manageable, I hope. LOL On to proprioceptive feedback! Yay.

X-Files: William

Tonight's XF blew me away entirely. I adore when David directs....he's so talented. The episode started out hysterical, but by the end, I was highly depressed. Details below.

Wow. Just, wow. I loved the beginning, with Scully singing "Joy to the World" to William. First off, it's hers and Mulder's song which makes it perfect. Second, it was the most maternal interaction we've seen with her since he was born. Third, well, it's just funny, because Scully can't sing but she's very enthusiastic. <.g> I also loved Doggett doing pushups...struggling SO hard as he counts out, "1, 492. 1, 493. 20!" and falls down hard, groaning, "They don't pay me enough." LOL! So perfect. There was continuity, there was mentions of the past, there was humor.

Then the continuity seemed to get messed over, there were still mentions of the past, but it was no longer funny. I agree that Scully doesn't know where Mulder is. But why would she ask, bitter, why Mulder wasn't there if he missed William so much? She knows why.

Okay, and then William. Spender said that he was an alien. That They had used Scully to create him and was using her to raise him. Um, hello? William was supposed to be human! His parents are Mulder and Scully! The aliens saw his birth, saw what he was, and left! And now he's part alien? ACK!

Of course, I guess he's not alien anymore. When Scully gave him up, I was like, "They aren't going to notice that he's moving the mobile on his own?" But I guess Spender cured him of that.

Okay, and the adoption. All of this happened ONE WEEK before William was adopted. They found him a home THAt fast?? And I just can't buy Scully giving him up for adoption or even into foster care....she would do that without Mulder's consent??? She would do that AFTER HE'S HUMAN??? She knows that he's finally a real boy, and THAT'S when she gives him up? What, she only tolerated his presence while he was potentially an alien??? I don't get it! That seems so OFF to me.

The couple who took him in look like wonderful, caring, loving people, but man, it came out of nowhere. I have no clue what will happen in the final few episodes, but hopefully they'll deal with baby William more satisfactorily.

But all my complaints aside, it was a wonderful episode. Of course, my David was involved in the story plotting and he directed, so how could it be anything but? ; )

fun stuff

First off. According to Human For Sale, I am worth $1,516,250.00. Not bad, I guess. <.g>

D and I had a blast last night! As per usual, I showed up five minutes early and he was five minutes late. <.g> He greeted me with, "This time, I said I would be on time. This time, I said I wouldn't keep you waiting. This time, I left early. This time, I realized when I was half way here that I forgot my wallet. This time, after going back to get my wallet, I went to the wrong building." So, basically, I should be glad he got there. LOL We talked a little before the movie started...the presentation didn't go all that well. Something about typos on notes and calling DNA, RNA and calling RNA, DNA a few times, among other mistakes. Oops. <.g> He explained his internship to me, but I got lost after nucleolles, or something like that. LOL

The movie was so great! I always forget how much I love it. Ron and Hermione are so much fun, Ron cracks me up, Oliver is SO hot and so the only one who can *really act well, and Seamus blowing things up is so adorable. LOL I really can't wait for the second movie in November.

So after the movie, we went to the union for hot chocolate. But of course we both had work to do after the movie, so we couldn't sit down and chat. No, we had to stand in the foyer of the union and talk for over half an hour, under the guise of leaving. <.g> Then we walked a bit farther and stood for another 40 minutes or so outside of the union. Then he walked me home and we talked some more. LOL I've missed him this year! Stupid MCATS, taking all his time. <.g>

Okay. So, yesterday, I only got half a page done. But that's okay! Six pages left, three days of work, two pages per day. I can do that easily...I started out with two pages last Sunday, I can do it again. Summarize a few studies in my notebook and then type them all up. Very doable. Of course, I still need to research proprioceptive and internal, but that's okay. I'll ask mom tomorrow...she's amazingly good at finding studies online. LOL So. Food and work. Can't wait. LOL

Yippee-Yi-Yay

Happy Saturday to all! <.g> I'm bouncy today. Damien e-mailed me last night and asked if I wanted to see the HP movie with him on campus this evening, so I've got plans for tonight. Yay! I've missed Damien. I've even missed the clothing freak-outs that occur when I make plans with him...I've had times where I went through about five outfits. LOL I'm so silly!! Anyway, I also made breakfast for me and Kate...yummy french toast made with applesauce. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, floating smoke on the first and second floors not-with-standing. <.snicker> Hey, nothing burned, it just got smokey, okay? LOL

So. I'm going out with Damien at either 7 or 10. Before then, I need to do another 2 pages of my paper. At least. I'm rather excited, I'm in the mood to be accomplished today. Bodes well, I believe! Off to work go I.

computer fun

So, started with Chris and Justin. They were at 101 relationship points. Then they kissed too much and weren't happy. A little time apart and the relationship bounced back on it's own. JC came over, and while Chris read a cooking book, started hitting it off with Justin. He and J chatted for awhile, and then Justin flirted with him right next to Chris. Chris and JC were then at -100, and Chris queued up the option to slap JC after he finished reading. J started playing the piano, as JC cheered him on, and Chris decided to actually talk to JC. Turns out they have things in common, and are only at -75 now. I fully intend, however, to check out the "slap fight" option. I tried some teasing, blowing raspberries, but they actually mutually enjoyed that. Huh. <.g> Oh, and while Chris and Justin don't like for me to dictate affection, they will stand there for hours and kiss in different ways, which I found amusing.

Lance and Joey did less...Lance and me hit it off pretty well and are good friends now. Lance and Miggie are also getting friendlier. Joey loves to cook and play the piano. He and Lance love to be together.

All in all, fun to play. <.g> But I'm too tired to make this an equally fun report. LOL

F5

1. What are your hobbies?
Reading and writing, mostly. I love investigating and learning about old time Hollywood.

2. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
Well, I suppose nysnc merchandise. LOL Along with XF and Buffy stuff. I have a coin collection and a doll collection, too...my dad's best friend is a pilot, and he brought me back stuff from all over the world.

3. Is there a hobby you're interested in, but just don't have the time/money to do?
Cross stitching, believe it or not. LOL Any kind of sewing, actually. But my friend Lissa cross stitches all the time, and it looks like so much fun. She's gotten me a little starter kit, a little Christmas wreath, which I started, but never finished. It seems that I spend so much time on the computer, I don't have time for much in the way of offline hobbies. I'd like to try and work on that.

4. Have you ever turned a hobby into a moneymaking opportunity?
Nope. But I bet I could make some extra bucks if I started selling my XF and Buffy stuff.

5. Besides web-related stuff (burbs, rings, etc.), what clubs do you belong to?
NSSHLA, the student speech and hearing association. LOL A few other professional groups, too. But those really aren't clubs, are they? Hmmm. Uh, nysnc fan club. (Fat lot of good THAT did me.) Gilliangels/NWGA. (Which I need to get off the ground...Kate, you're August, you know. And you never even joined. LOL) Can't think of any others. I'm not a very clubby person. Never have been.

April 25, 2002

nsync love

Wheeee, Jennie and I watched nsync on WB! She finally gave in and has stopped blaming me for getting her hooked, and actually thanked me. LOL I'd seen MSG before, of course, but it's always so much fun. JC was so very happy in many songs, Lance flipped Chris, they sang a capella, and really, the whole thing made me happy. (But not happy like JC! LOL I was checking for typos and realized that I was using two different meanings for happy here. <.g> Must clarify. LOL) Not enough Lance love, but I'm used to that. Jennie took the opportunity to fall for JC, and we made plans to hook up for at least one concert on their next tour. <.g>

Then, I went to the Cocktail Hour and found this picture from Nassau, April 11. ::blink::

Damned if I know the context, but WOW. LOL Don't care about the context, I can make my own. I squeaked when I saw it. <.g> (Thank you to whomever took and posted that pic...I wish I knew who you were so I could thank you for real!) I swear, they're heading towards a kiss or at least an announcement in the last concerts. LOL Each concert has gotten progressively more and more slashy...Justin recently has been groping Chris's ass on stage, Joey giggled and told girls in the pit that Justin was gay and bad in bed, Joey humped Lance and Lance finally did not run away, Joey straddling JC....yup, it's headin' somewhere. <.giggle> (Just teasing, really....they're most likely just very friendly, touchy-feely boys. But my imagination can make them so much more!)

You know you're cool when even the kid who defeated Voldemort thinks so. You have a disposition that attracts people to you as friends and allies. And it's not just your outward appearance - under all your coolness, you're smart enough to be Head Boy/Girl, too. ...and which lesser Harry Potter character are you?

Neat. <.g>

happy birthday, baby

Pssst.....a little birdie told me that someone very special is having a birthday today!

Lady K, have a super nice relaxing morning, tell the twerps at work I told them to give you a break today (and to keep in mind I do know where they work and can come chasing after them ), and have a lovely dinner with your family. Love you so much! {{{HUGS}}}

grandmother esther

So, grandma called daddy at work today, she wants him to pick her up tonight. She's been refusing since Monday...mom and dad were talking last night and this morning, and both firmly believed she'd never agree. So after three days, mom finally got out of the "she's coming" mindset, and now....she's coming. <.g> Ooops. Anyway, I guess she had a doctor's appt today...he says she can't go to work until May 3, and she's lost a few more pounds. So we think that freaked her out. So, I guess we'll see what happens now. : )

I finished one EdPsych paper, but really, I need to write about my project. I don't know why I'm so unable to do so...I guess I'm afraid that it was totally stupid and everything, and I don't want to share with him now. But, I mean, after I hand it in, I'll only see him briefly at the final. So it shouldn't be a big deal. But somehow it is. <.sigh> Oh, well. Dawson is on now, and I think I like Joey and Charlie. And then WW is doing a White House documentary I'm really excited about. So I guess I won't be starting EdPsych until 9, anyway. LOL

Oh, I'm kinda excited...I met someone from my major today! Her name is Brooklyn, and she's really sweet. She lives a few blocks down from me. She just transfered into the major this year, and is finding it hard to get to know anyone, since there are so many cliques. Just in case she had talked to a few other people, I didn't want to give my opinion that 95% of the class are airheads and jerks. LOL But I feel bad that, you know, potential friend all year long that I didn't know. <.g> I think she's in my discussion lab and everything! Hmm. Oh, well. We've bonded over mutual dislike for Kuehn, and maybe I'll invite her to work on the final with me, Lauren, Meg and Jill. <.g>

marriage

According to eMode, I will be married by Saturday, September 24, 2005. That's....really awfully close, considering I've never even had a boyfriend, really. LOL Near as I can tell, I'm more emotionally ready for marriage than socially close. <.g>

facial hair

<.giggle>

So cute. LOL

tiff and more

So what did I wake up to today? A lovely e-mail from Tiff saying that she really loved one question on our Lance quiz, and it had inspired some drabbles framed around the question and answers, and did we mind that? Mind that? Hell, no! LOL I'd read most of her stories this weekend, and really, am quite excited that we inspired her. LOL So she posted her story today....Pop Quiz. Go read, and feedback, because she rocks. We chatted a little bit this morning, and she writes Sports Night fic, too. Wheeee! Much fun here. <.g>

Spring weather has returned! It's 69 now, and so amazingly lovely out. Sure, there's a weather watch and slowly getting cloudier, but the point is that it's 69 degrees outside. <.g> This is a good thing.

Miggie got to see the Buffy musical last night! So I've had my Buffy CD on while I'm home. <.g> Damn, I love that episode. Poor Aarti has had to listen to me singing along, too. LOL

Okay, this afternoon...must finish up the EdPsych paper, and do more notes on feedback. Pretty doable, I think. Gosh, I just can't believe it's end of semester already. ::shakes head:: Please, can't be March again? Just for a few days, so I can get more done? LOL

April 23, 2002

X-Files

Which X-Files Character Are You? Take the Quiz

it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Another slow starting morning. LOL I'm just so freaking COLD! The temps have dropped low, and since Sarah took off our house's protective covering, the cold air is coming in hard and fast. <.g> Typing has been quite amusing, let me tell you. LOL

The Lance quiz is doing well! I had a counter on it, and I went to check it last night...93. I was happy. I checked it this morning...about 289, I think. I went, ACK! Did my counter go kablooey? About five minutes ago I checked again because I realized I couldn't really remember the number. Now it's 356. ::blinks:: Is someone refreshing a lot?! LOL So I put a tracker in to see if the counter I was using is just acting crazy or what, because that's a little insane right there. <.g> Although my data transfer has doubled already for this month, so if I go away, um, that's why. It was kinda fun to be randomly checking the LJs I read and see my quiz, though, so it's worth it. <.g>

I'm totally hungry, so I think it's time to mosey on down and find food. Today I really want to research the next part of my paper so I can start writing it tonight or tomorrow afternoon. That's really my only goal. Wish me luck. LOL

April 22, 2002

morning, lovies

I'm having a slow start this morning. <.g> I thought I would. Oh, well. Got started on my paper last night around 10. By 12, when I went to bed, I had 2.5 pages. I'm pretty pleased with that.

So it seems as if my grandmother (and her dog) are moving in with us. Like, today. She's not doing well...she's 84 years old, still works downtown, but she's having a hard time. She's tiny, like 4'10, and about 80 pounds, but she's losing weight. And today when dad picked her up to go to work, she had to hold onto things to move around. We've been worried for awhile, and dad had been going to take her to dinner tonight and ask her to consider it, but now he's really worried and insistant to her. It'll be a change, that's for sure. But not necessarily a bad one. The dog is the biggest issue...it's BIG. But it's well trained, knows all the commands. And really, it's a sweetie. So I'm fine with him, but who knows how he and Josh will get along? And our yard isn't completely enclosed, so we need to do that. So we'll see what happens.

I really like Mariah's new series, If I Had it All...it's JC back on the MMC, when he was 14-16 so far, and really sweet. Of course, the first time they mentioned Joey, I didn't realize it was Joey Joey. LOL But then I did, and I like the series. Parts 6-11 were just posted today, and they're pretty short. Can't wait for more!

Maybe now I should get moving a little bit. <.g>

April 21, 2002

Lance quiz

Ta DA!!! Finally, I present to you, a Rina-and-Miggie creation, a "Learn me, Mississippi Albino" production, the What Lance are You? quiz. <.g> I know you've all been waiting with baited breath.

which Lance Bass are you?

And because this is a theme with me, change one answer and I get:

which Lance Bass are you?

LOL I always seem to be one away from a change, every time. I'm always so indecisive. <.g>

insane

I'm so freaking insane. It's 1:40 am. I am still awake. I got no school work done.

I did, however, work with Miggie and got our Lance quiz done. <.g> I'll post tomorrow after I show her what I did so she can okay it. We started the questions at 5:15. Did those until 8:30, then I coded until 10:30, then I found pictures and made graphics until 12:45, and then I finished coding the result pages. ::blinks:: I spent 8.5 hours working on this. People better appreciate this. LOL Actually, it was pretty fun, even if my wrist hurts. <.g>

Now if I could put in half as much effort on my paper today!! LOL

April 20, 2002

blah

I suck. LOL I am so unmotivated today. I've done, like, nothing. Except chat with Jennie about the nsync CD she bought last night while she installs her new stereo. And download new songs...Usher, Vanessa Carlton (singing 1000 Days live), and Bryan McKnight/Justin duet. And, God help me, I had my MP3s on random and I got both Yatta and the Extended Yatta remix within about 20 minutes of each other. I can't stop singing along! "Yat-ta! Yat-ta! Yat-ta!" Miggie, this is so your fault. LOL Happy-go-lucky, indeed. It is SO damn addictive. <.g>

You know, this paper is the only assignment I have left, really. And I cannot make myself do it. But I will. Today, I shall type up minimum of one page. But first, I think I'm going to do my nails. Red, lavendar, or sparkly blue violet? Vote now. <.g>

April 19, 2002

Miggie and JC

Okay, all my characters are in now. <.g> Miggie and JC have yet to meet anyone but each other, but that will come in time. LOL Meanwhile, MAN, did the two of them hit it off. LOL I think they fell in love the fastest of all my sims so far. <.g> Here are a few shots.

I really love the outfit I found for him...green shirt with a star, and washed out jeans.

JC sweet talking Miggie.

JC has fallen in love with Miggie after she flirts with him one more time. (By this point, Miggie is also in love with him.)

The big smooch.

Later, the Chasez's will get acquainted with their neighbors, hopefully. <.g> Here's looking forward to some Basez or Teerlove. LOL

more movies

"CK Dexter Haven, you have unsuspected depth!" <.giggle> I love this scene. LOL Jimmy Stewart, drunk, visiting Cary Grant. LOL Can't wait for the pool scene with Jimmy and Kate.

And next is His Girl Friday. WHOOO! And I haven't heard of the movie after it, but it's supposed to be fast paced and amusing. I'm sold. <.g>

"Doggone it, CK Dexter Haven, either you're going to sock me, or I'm going to sock you."
"Shall we toss a coin?" <.g> I love how Jimmy always calls him CK Dexter Haven here. <.giggle>

long live TCM

I am so addicted to TCM these days. Last night, they showed all musicals. I saw Singing in the Rain for the first time...LOVED IT. I'd heard all the songs, of course, and had seen some pieces of it, but never this much. It was fantastic. Then they showed a Fred Astaire one from the 50s that I greatly enjoyed (despite the one performance where they played infant triplets, sang about how they did everything the same, but "we hate each other, we hate our folks. We hate the jokes about what an art it is to tell us apart. I wish I had a gun, a wittle gun, to shoot the other two so I could be one." ACK! LOL I was horrified), then came Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, which was still on when I fell asleep. My favorite musical, Kiss Me Kate, was on at 1, but I couldn't stay up that late. <.sigh>

Now I'm watching The Philadelphia Story. I adore this movie, every bit of it. Don't always agree with everything, but I enjoy it immensely. I wonder what's on next. If it's nothing I want to watch, maybe I'll pop in my Jimmy Stewart/Carole Lombard movie. <.g> I could totally go for that today.

f5

1. What's your favorite TV show and why?
Um. Hmmm. <.g> I suppose Buffy. Or West Wing. I love both shows, but I never really quite remember to watch. I'm better with WW than Buffy, though. As to why, let's see.

Buffy: Kick ass characters, witty writing, realistic portrayals, fun twists on reality, Willow and Tara, Spike. <.g>

WW: Blow-me-over writing, idealistic and realistic characters, conversations I get happily get lost in, amusing situations, moving situations, ideas that make me think and start researching to learn more.

2. Who is your favorite television star?
Probably Gillian Anderson. I adore her.

3. What was your favorite TV show as a child?
Square One and Jem. I watched religiously. I still remember the Jem ep that played the morning after Josh stopped breathing in the middle of the night and we had to rush him to the ER. It was my least favorite, too, of course. <.g> But I loved the show...had the dolls and books, started to play piano to be like Kimber, wrote stories about them, everything. And as for S1, it was such a brilliant math show. I got through HS algebra thanks to them. I still adore Mathnet. I wish they sold episodes of that show.

4. What show do you think should have been cancelled by now?
X-Files should have gone away 2 years ago.

5. What new show do you hope escapes the axe this season?
I liked American Embassy. I think that's the only new show I watched.

April 18, 2002

animal

I've really gotta stop finding quizzes. <.g>

What kind of animal are you in bed?

You are a Swan. Very committed, you know how to treat your partner well. You look after their best interests and have complete respect for them. Easy going, you like to be sociable but enjoy your partner's company. You're at your happiest when tucked up in bed with your loved one. You prefer sensual, sexy love making rather than a quick romp, that's the only way to find true pleasure and reach sexual nirvana.

Swan?! LOL! So sexy, huh? <.giggle>

goddess

From Meegan : )

What Goddess Archetype are you?
You are Hestia, the goddess of the hearth. You are a patient and steady woman who finds comfort in solitude and exudes a sense of intactness and wholeness.

Sounds promising. <.g> I love quizzes. So much so that I learned how to do it, and Miggie and I are making one or two tonight. Meegan, let's do one, too! We can brainstorm ideas, since I'm sure you probably don't want to work on the nsync ones with me and Miggie. LOL

Which JC are you?

<.g>

My JC Style is Girly!

What's Your JC Style?

Let's just face it, you enjoy a good pretty boy. You're looking for someone that you can take home to your momma and you just know if you show momma the footage on Rosie with the Cardigan, she'll fall in love with him because that's how you fell in love with him. You also enjoy a good cry, and you know that JC would be just the guy to take to that new romance film you've been dying to see. He'll cry on your shoulder and fall desperately in love with you.

He's just so damn cute with the fluffy hair and sweetness and stuff! LOL

Changed one answer (first question, even. LOL) and then got this:

My JC Style is Casual!

What's Your JC Style?

You're not into all the hype. You live of the behind the scenes footage and dream of days when they'll show up at the House of Blues in a pair of jeans and play instruments. You're not the type of girl that writes Mrs. Chasez when you sign your name, but deep in your heart, you know you're the type he needs.

Can't he be pretty and playing at HOB? <.g> Both are pretty accurate. Um, minus that last sentence of the last one, 'cause really, I know no such thing. <.g>

April 17, 2002

Sim fun

Kate asked for a post to read before her class tomorrow, so here goes. LOL

I finally set up Lance and Joey. I adore their house...bright and cheerful. <.g> I start the game, check out their interests. Neither has any interest in romance at all. "Oh, no," I groan. So much for JoLa. Or me and Lance, since I have the same problem.

Joey hops in the hot tub, which I love...he stretches his legs out over the side and everything. Lance follows. I can't have them talk in there, only play, cuddle, wash, and kiss. Since they never met before or talked, I figured no, I'd let them just hang out. Lance says one thing about travel. Joey approves. They nod their heads, switch places....and Lance goes down on Joey. LOL I shrieked and ran into Kate's room, laughing. LOL Guess they don't need romance. <.g>

Later, I came for a visit. Lance and I chatted for awhile, and found several common interests. I went away after a little bit of flirting, (I greatly enjoyed the pictured growl, despite the photographic evidence) but we're nearly family friends already. Then, Chris came over. Joey greeted him, and Chris's first thing was to tease him. Joey cried. Then they talked and ended up getting along somewhat. Then Jennie came over. She and Joey talked for awhile, but her real conversation partner was the robot...they talked enthusiastically for hours, and he did tricks and juggled for her. <.g> She and Chris also hit it off fairly well. Then Justin came over, while Jennie and Chris chatted and Joey napped. He and Lance became close fairly quickly before Lance excused himself. Joey kicked out the other guests, and he and Lance spent time slowly making their moves. The next day, they were in love. Awwwwwww. LOL

I checked on mine and Jennie's Sims to see how our relationship with the boys were doing, and we started slow dancing in my bedroom. <.g> I thought that was pretty cute. LOL If you haven't caught on by now, I'm the redhead with long hair, she's the dark haired one in purple. <.g>

Now to get JC and Miggie into the game. LOL

Joey on TRL

Ack! I didn't know today was Joey's day on TRL! So I didn't get the first segment on tape. <.pout> It was the funniest, too...apparently Brianna has three words. Mama, dada, and something Joey can't say on television. LOL! That poor child, she apparently swears a lot. <.g> They also showed a clip from that realnsync video from their early days...it was Justin and Chris tormenting Lance, who was sleeping with his eyes open. LOL Pretty cute...I really, really, really want it now. LOL Aarti said they talked a little about Lance going into space, too, and that Justin goes out the least and Lance the most after concerts. Oh, and JC and Emmanuelle are not dating. <.g> I really wish I'd seen all of it! Things got a bit messed up because I'm taping GH in my room, so we had to try and make Kate's VCR tape (on my tape, Kate, don't worry. <.g>) it worked, and I don't think we missed much of the second segment. LOL But yeah, wish I had gotten the first.

I only saw a few scenes of GH today, which was the 10,000th episode and all flashbacks, but every single one made me go "AWWWWW!" Except the "EWWWW!" when I saw that they apparently replaced the Fascination song from Luke and Laura's dance in Wyndhom's department store with Enya's Only Time. <.shudder> Ew. Even if it was just a short clip in a montage, you let Fascination play in that scene. End of story. <.g> But Ned and Lois on their honeymoon at Coney Island...Robin and Stone as Romeo and Juliet...Sonny and Brenda on the beach of Puerto Rico...they made me so very very happy. I can't wait for Jennie to get home so we can watch it!!

The Early Show

Just watched JC and Justin give a backstage tour on The Early Show...hysterical! Oh, I love when JC gets to babble. <.g> He's so cute. But man...the idiot who interviewed them? LOL Misprounced "Chasez" entirely, and then corrected himself...by further mispronouncing it! That drives me insane...dude, he MET them. Spent time with them. JC pointed out that he put his last name on one of his costumes so he would remember his name. <.g> At some point, he had to have heard the correct way to say Chasez. <.g> Oh, well. It was still really fun!

Oh, I forgot to mention. LOL They showed us the toy room, but the quiet room had a sign that if you weren't one of the five guys in nsync, do not enter. So they stood outside to tell us what was in there...I thought it was amusing because Justin was like we got candles and some other stuff, and JC was jumping in with, "A coffee table! We have couches and a coffee table." Like Justin was painting this could-be-construed-as-slashy picture and JC was trying to unpaint it. LOL I need to watch yesterdays again, too...I missed some stuff. Like I heard Justin jumping to Lance's defense, but didn't note it as such. <.g> Also, didn't see nervousandworried!Lance talking about how if he does get into the space program, he has to leave the day after he finds out. Man, that would freak me out, too. So you have to, like, get all mentally and physically ready to go, but if you don't get in....that would make you feel pretty bad. No time to really prepare. As an overplanning control-freak, that would terrify me. LOL

And now that it's over, I can actually get ready for my day and not have to sit in front of my computer and TV, waiting for the boys to appear. <.g>

Xena lives!

Oooh, neat! I love Chicago. Someone on the Xena/Gabby list posted about something called Xena Lives!, which is a musical set after the series finale, wherein, obviously, Xena lives. I only really noticed it because the headline said May 11, which is also my birthday, so it jumped out. LOL So I told my mom, "oooh, Xena play on my birthday downtown!" Then kept reading to find out it actually extends to May 19, after she said to give her details when she signed back online. Then I kept exploring the site, and it sounds fantastic. Tribune raved about it. Then I read about the theater and discovered that it's apparently #1 in Chicago for lesbian, gay, and bi quality programs and stuff. <.g> Now that'll be interesting. I'm fine with that, of course, and take that to mean I'm gonna get a lot of really great and fun Xena/Gabby subtext here that might even venture a bit farther. Fantastic, I say. Problem being that my dad would have to be the one to buy my ticket(s), since I won't be home until the 11th and by then the last nights would most likely be sold out. So. Do I attempt to pretend I didn't know that and ask dad to get me tickets anyway? Try and get them myself without letting him know exactly where I'm going that night? (Which would never work.) This is going to take some consideration...I really want to go! But I also have to live at home all summer long. LOL

well, it's something

Well, I did a bunch of research and have two pages of notes to write off of for the auditory section of my paper. Which I actually started. Okay, half a page done only, but it's something. LOL So, feeling kinda good. I finally moved downstairs and watched a few WENN episodes while I worked. (Diva That Wouldn't Die and Emperor Smith) It's been a few months since I last watched, and it always surprises me 1, how much I still have memorized, and 2, how much I still love it. What was really surprising is that this time around, I remembered how much I used to love Betty before the fandom tried to ruin her for me (screw them! I don't care about their obnoxious and wrong portrayals! I like her, damn it. And I won't let me forget that again. Just because I like her doesn't mean I can't make fun of her, though), but I also realized that, um, I kinda like Betty and Victor. A lot. More than Betty and Scott. 'Cause then Scott can be with Maple. or Hilary. Or both. I'm flexible that way. <.g> I still want to be Hilary when I grow up, but I'd like to make a detour into being Maple for awhile first. <.g> I think Maple could evolve into a Hilary-ish person, so it fits. But that would involve toning herself down, and I like her too much as she is to have her change so much. But, yes. I miss that show.

And now must run to class. Ick. <.g>

Hmmm

So, I went to bed super early again...10. And I actually fell asleep really quickly. So I woke up at 6. I want to get work done today, you know? Yeah. It doesn't really count if you wake up at 6 and just watch Buffy, right? <.g> I was in bed until 7:30, when I suddenly realized I had forgotten nsync on The Early Show, but luckily they hadn't been on yet. <.g> It was a taped interview, which is still fun, but you therefore couldn't see that Chris no longer has beard horns. Apparently they're on again tomorrow (JC and Justin, at any rate) giving a tour of backstage. So that'll be fun.

I downloaded the TIPY remix off of Glace's site this morning...love it! I agree, totally something out of Babylon. Really, quite a lot of fun.

So now it's 9am and I've done nothing. As per usual. LOL I'm trying something new today...not being on the computer. I'm gonna write by hand. Maybe up here, maybe downstairs. I certainly can't get any LESS work done. LOL

April 15, 2002

good morning, good morning!

It's 8:30 am, and already nearly 70 out. I have my door open, and the fresh air is amazing. I am so excited! The birds chirping, cloudless sky, the warmth....I love it, love it, love it!

Meanwhile, Glace has one of my favorite coming out speeches EVER linked on her blog....Justin from Jae's Remember, which is one of my favorites in general. <.g> Go read!! First the quote then the story. Or first the story and then the quote. It's all funny. LOL

Oooh! And Making the Fic 2 is out now! Wheeee! LOL These crack me up entirely. Lance is silly in this one, poor guy. LOL They're fliming at his house. <.g>

Man, I'm in a happy mood today. LOL Better take advantage of it while it lasts! <.g>

Justin and Chris

Okay, so sometime this week turned into tonight. LOL I was showing Kate some Hot Date options, and took some snapshots as we went.

Justin and Chris kissing in the hot tub.
kissing

Chris washing Justin in the hot tub. (Justin had just finished washing Chris)
washing

Chris cuddling Justin in the hot tub.
cuddling

Chris going down on Justin in the hot tub. (Justin soon followed. And while there were no moans or cheering this time, there was spitting.)
playing

Cuddling on the couch
cudding 2

Smooching on the couch
kiss 2

They were really making out here. Kate and I kept going, "Ooooh!" because they kept going.
kiss 3

It really looks here like Chris is the one always initiating, but let me come right out and say that's not always the case. <.g> I was just too lazy to toggle back and forth, for the most part. They finally kissed passionately, but I was so excited, I forgot to take a picture. They didn't like the fiery kiss, though. <.g>

So, there's some of the fun nslash stuff I've done so far. Maybe sometime this week I can add it Lance/Joey and JC/Miggie, and let them all rip. See what fun relationships come up out of it. : ) But for now...sleep! I did my assignments for tomorrow, and am really quite pleased.

April 14, 2002

ooops

Shoot, I was going to watch XF tonight! I totally forgot....they brought Leyla Harrison back. <.sigh> Crap. Oh, well. I watched the season premiere of Nero Wolfe on A&E instead, which totally rocked. But still. <.pout> I can't believe I forgot.

Tonight's Silent Sunday on TCM is called "The Merry Widow." Oooh, it was just introduced as having an orgy scene. LOL This was directed by the guy, Eric Von Stroheim, who's first film for MGM ran 8 hours. <.giggle> Anyway, it's from 1925, and features Clark Gable...as an extra!! How fun is that? I think it sounds like quite a lot of fun. I gave up and set the VCR to tape now, as I know there's no way I'll be up until 1. I'm already falling asleep, but I am bound and determined to get this last article done for 386 tomorrow. Then I'll have gotten at least two assignments done today. <.sigh>

quick sims

Okay, no pictures of slash yet. This week, some shall come. But until then, this is me twirling Joey around in my arms. <.giggle>

me and Joey

Okay, some slash, just not pretty boys.
Willow and Tara

lovely day

It's so nice out! I love happy spring weather. And tomorrow, it's going to be 80. Whoooo! I'm already wearing shorts. And pulled out my keds! Much fun.

Haven't done much in the way of work yet. Ooops. But I will. I don't know why I'm dragging....I'm really actually kinda interested in my topic. First up is auditory feedback...that's basically hearing what you say and therefore knowing you said something. So I'm gonna talk about what it is, how you can test it, how you measure it, how it works normally, how it can not work, what happens when it doesn't work, and all of that stuff. That's my plan for the day. ::nods:: I'll let you know when it happens.

April 13, 2002

sleepy

You know, I'm getting annoyed. This entire week, I've been getting sleepy around 9:30, and dragging myself into bed by 10:30. I'm about to head to bed now. I don't get it...I've tried letting myself sleep until I woke up. I've tried limiting myself to 8 hours, to 6 hours. I've tried making myself stay up. Nothing helps! I'm still ready to drop so early. Really, not happy about this.

What did I do today? Played Sims. Read some articles. Outlined my paper...9 freaking parts, including intro and conclusion. 1 1/10 of a page per item, I guess. <.g> Hopefully tomorrow I'll do better. Well, really, no hopefully about it. Tomorrow I WILL do better.

Oh, me, oh, my

So. Been playing the Sims for a few hours. Maybe more than a few. LOL I've set up two houses so far...me and Jennie, and Chris and Justin. How am I unable to create characters that can only be friends, instead of always needing to be in love? It's kinda annoying. <.g> But, yeah, Chris and Justin are pretty head over heels here. They REALLY liked playing in the hot tub. I heard moans and cheers in there. <.g> It's really such an addictive game. I have two houses left to set up, but I don't think I'll do those today. I shouldn't have done these two. LOL

Hot Date is significantly harder to play, though. There are two relationship bars...one for how they feel overall about another Sim, one for how well they're doing at that moment. So while C&J were at 95 and 100 currently, their overall was only in the 60s, and had to be built up before they were completely in love, with a deep red heart instead of a pink one. Also, the points go down faster, too. They dropped into the 70s just by going to sleep in different beds. The next morning, by the time they'd showered and stuff, and were just starting to talk, they fell out of love! But then they talked a bit and the hearts were back. So you always have to be watching that. The new options are really fun, but hard, too. I mean, Justin poked Chris and Chris burst into tears. <.g> That was unexpected. And while they might be ready to suavely kiss, it might not be time for a romantic kiss. Which Chris and Justin don't seem to like at all, anyway.

Oh, and the interests! My Sim has NO interest in romance at ALL. (And Jennie has every interest in it, which is kind of amusing. Explains why her romance and relationship points jumped 15 for every 1 of mine!) And Chris has no interest in music, but adores politics, while Justin thinks music is the cat's pajamas. I like knowing what each Sim is interested in, though, because now there's a "change topic" option so you choose what to talk about.

I need to be done playing Sims now, though. LOL Really, need to at least read the articles I've already found. Oh, but funny thing...while I was showing Aarti some of the new options in the game, she stopped me and was like, "What's your neighbor playing?" He had "Girlfriend" playing on his computer! Really really loudly, with the bass up. <.g> We were cracking up. He was playing Sting this afternoon, too...one of these days when he's playing a good song, I should just walk over, knock on the door, and tell him to turn up his music so I could hear it better. <.g>

good morning! :)

Well, after repeated readings of AntiMatter and Matter, neither of which I can rec enough, I decided I had a taste for an omelet. LOL Found an easy recipe, decided to give it a shot. Well, it's cooked. <.g> And it tastes really good! It's cheese with some onion and parsley powder mixed it. It doesn't quite LOOK like anything, however. LOL I kinda freaked when I dumped the eggs in the pan and it started making all these loud noises and HUGE bubbles formed. Nothing I read said that would happen! LOL It all cooked pretty fast, so I was frantically trying to "swish" the pan as instructed and try and dump the cheese in, and when I tried to fold it over, well, it didn't fold well. LOL So I let the non-folded part cook some more and moved that over, and by the time it was all moved over, it was just kinda bunchy. LOL But it was my first time, and it does taste okay, and I only grated myself twice (both during clean-up! LOL), so I'm counting it as a success. <.g>

I so, so, so, so want to play Sims right now. LOL I downloaded a bunch of stuff last night...all five nsyncers, some female heads, some new outfits, a vibrating bed of love that's not gaudy, some new floors and wallpapers, and a bunch of objects that I've now forgotten. LOL And since I reinstalled the game, I get to start all over with everyone! That's exciting for me...setting things up is my favorite thing to do. LOL

I really do need to do work, though. Read my sources and outline, that's my job for today. It's just so NICE out. And that's so BORING. Would it hurt anyone if I played until 2 or 3, and then started work? I didn't think so. <.g>

I HATE SPRING

Okay, I love spring. But not now, not home alone with a tornado warning announced for my county for the next hour. <.pout> I hate tornados. I hate storms. I hate bad weather. I get so nervous and worried and sick, ever since the tornado that hit our house a few years ago. <.sigh>

Crap, do I even know where to go? I hate hearing "Champaign-Urbana" on the weather channel. Ugh, another bright red screen telling me to take cover. I don't hear sirens, though, so I'll stay here. 'Cause really, taking cover is, like, walking 5 steps to the bathroom, I guess.

Have I mentioned how much I hate bad weather? I really, really do. I get all freaked like this, and I feel like an idiot. But I can't help it.

Battleground God

From here, found this.. Very interesting. I scored one direct hit and bit the bullet once. Apparently, I have unusual beliefs. <.g>

children's book quiz

From Jason. : )

stuff

Lab was actually interesting today! I am so in love with the VisiPitch, which is a diagnostic/therapy computer program that helps with some voice disorders. Seriously, totally excited about it! I wanna use it. <.g>

Also checked my 383 grade...I got a B+ on the exam. One freaking point from an A. AHHHHHHH! Urgh. So I'm getting a B in the class. Maybe my last test can punch me up to an A-, but I'm not too optimistic. I'll take a B. LOL

This weekend is mom's weekend....I think I'm the only one here who's mom *isn't coming. <.g> Kate's and Aarti's are...didn't ask Sarah. When my mom learned about it, she was like, "I don't have to come, do I?" In a kind of whiny tone. <.g> Of course she doesn't, and honestly, I'd rather she didn't, but she could be a little nicer about it. LOL Let's see...what do I need to do this weekend?

Today:
clean room
clean bathroom
type up SOMETHING (anything) about my project and e-mail the MI paper to Aekyung to peer edit.
Find my workshopped stories
Stop giving Krissy TMI (<.giggle>)

Saturday:
find more articles on feedback
read articles on feedback
outline paper on feedback
write at least intro on paper on feedback

Sunday:
write at least two pages on paper on feedback
write summary on last two 386 articles

Monday:
write at least two pages on paper on feedback

Heaven help me.

barbie quiz

From Meegan. <.g> I saw this coming, so I kinda influenced my results a bit. But I do collect things for my current obsession, and I would join an nsync fan club. In fact, well, kinda did. LOL So.

You are the NSYNC #1 Fan Barbie! You are in your teenybopper stage and quite possibly still have many barbies or took this quiz in order to figure out which barbie to purchase next. You are too young to be randomly surfing sites online. Be careful.

What's REALLY funny is that I took it again, taking out my nsync answers. And got THIS, of all things.

You are Harley Barbie! You don't asocciate with "sophisticate" barbie and never "nsync #1 fan" barbie, but you know who your friends are and you do what you want. Plus, you have a kick ass motorcycle.

WTF? LOL! Oh, well. <.g> I honestly don't know how I got that one...leather jacket, maybe? LOL I thought I was heading more towards Presidential Barbie, to be honest. <.g>

Lance in space

Wow. I think Lance really is doing it. According to this interview with him, anyway. I know I read somewhere that he can only do 80% of the tests here and has to finish in Russia. And, of course, last I checked, Russia claimed he hadn't applied. <.g> I don't think I'd really expect to get all the information, anyway, just as a fan, though. But he says that he passed everything and has been accepted. That's seriously so exciting for him! Really...wow. I mean, sure, I still think he's insane, but that's because he's doing something I wouldn't want to do. LOL Once I take that prejudice out, I think this is the damn coolest thing, and I hope it works out for him! Go, Lance! We'll be waiting when you get back. <.g>

edited to say: See, now he's saying he has a 70% chance of getting in. Maybe I should put a moratorium on press releases until they figure out exactly what IS going on. Then I'll find out. LOL

busy day

Wow, I can't believe I didn't write anything at all yesterday. That's very unlike me. I guess I was too busy procrastinating. LOL I swear, I read almost all of Rhys's stories yesterday, including two I hadn't before (Chris/Trevor, which rocked so much, and Chris/Nick, which was sweet and good). I wrote most of my paper, though...even the conclusion. LOL All that's left is my project, so I'll finish it tomorrow. Starting 376 on Saturday instead of Friday won't kill me.

So, has anyone ever heard of the song To the Teeth, by Ani DiFranco? One project for EdPsych is partnering up with someone to do a "soundtrack to education" where you pick a song and ask the class questions on how it relates to teaching and education. I honestly thought that we were going next week. But Lauren says no, it's this week. And she didn't like my (admittedly spur of the moment) idea to use India.Arie's Video, and talk about the media's impact on student's self-esteem and self-image and how that can affect their school experiences. So she chose the above Ani song. I'm still at a loss as to how it connects. <.sigh> I'm hoping I'm right and we're going next week. She told me she'd do the questions and I'd just pass out lyrics. Eeeek.

Okay. So this morning, I need to see if I can call Lauren and get an idea of her questions. (The lyrics are all printed out.) Then I have to do my questions for the class, because I always procrastinate those until the morning of. Then I go to class, mail Miggie's package, come back and try to write my paper, give up and comment on today's stories for writing class, go to class and wish I was watching Rosie, come back from class and actually watch Rosie, and hopefully write more paper. <.g> That really doesn't sound too bad.

Wow, it's gone up ten degrees in the 2 hours I've been up!! It's now 58, still going up to about 71. Whooo! I'm in my Mickey bowling shirt and denim capris in celebration. <.g>

April 09, 2002

last workshop

I love my writing class. <.g> John, the teacher, broke the rule and they did my story while I was gone. Whooo! LOL Okay, admittedly, I am curious as to what was said. Nghi said they had this fairly big debate about if Roger and Chris ended up sleeping together that night or not. <.g> Okay, personally, I don't think anything happened that night. Maybe after the war, who knows. But I left it really, really open and a lot of people complained, because they wanted to know. LOL Apparently he started out the discussion by pointing out that I wasn't there, so they could talk about how much they hated it....gee, thanks. <.g> But really, most of the comments were really positive. One didn't say anything, and one had some quibbles but liked some of it. And wow, my teacher really liked it. Or likes my writing, at any rate. I got comments such as, "Your sense of rhythm between dialogue and exposition is admirable," and "This is such solid, sane writing that mostly all I want to do is get out of your way and let you run." He also thinks that I have another novel idea out of this, plus I should keep writing in general. It makes me happy to read things like that...I have such a low opinion of my own writing skills that sometimes I feel bad for allowing it among the masses. So his comments, and the rest of the classes's, too, made me less guilty for inflicting it on them. LOL Of course, it also made me want to work on my two stories-in-progress, but I sadly can't really do that tonight. <.g> Well, maybe if I get to page six tonight...I'm on page five now. Yay!

hmm

Yup. Having the same kind of day as yesterday. Haven't written a thing. Need to. Soon. Now, really. Why can't I stay focused? I have no real excuse. I don't feel great, but I feel so much better than yesterday, and I should really do something. Something that's not reading old Rhys stories. <.g>

Okay. I'm going to explain my damn project if it's the last thing I do.

Bigger than Live

Hey, neat. Happy Birthday, Lady K. LOL The nsync IMAX movie, Bigger than Live, is gonna be on WB at 7pmCST on April 25. That'll be fun! Only an hour, but closest I'll ever get to seeing it. <.g>

Still haven't written my paper. I guess because I don't know what to write about. I guess I'll try and explain my research project now. Hopefully that's good for a number of pages. I mean, it's my project. He won't know if I'm exaggerating my findings or not. <.g> My conclusions are my conclusions.

missing file?

I restarted my computer, and got this message: required .DLL file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LEXBCES.EXE not found. Is that going to kill my computer in anyway, does anyone know? <.g> This is after I tried to open my add/remove programs thing and was told something was missing or not working or something there, too. Oh, here we go: The ODBC resource DLL (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ODBCINT.DLL) is a different version than the ODBC setup dll (C:\WINDOWS\STSTEM\ODBCCP32.DLL). You need to reinstall the ODBC components to ensure proper operation. Then I guess it gives me the option of doing so or aborting. How bad is this one? LOL Seriously, anyone know why these are popping up now?

I have to reboot anyway....my sounds didn't come with the computer this time. Then I HAVE to write my paper. While I watch Funny Face on Flix...love Audrey and Fred Astaire.

concert summaries

Thank you, Spikeless! FINALLY someone saw what made Joey chase Lance around...Joey kept humping his leg. Continuously. So Lance kept trying to run away. <.g> I knew it was something. LOL Wish I'd been on that side! We got nothin' but Justin shaking his booty on my side. <.g>

And wow, she managed to get, like, all of the conversation for April 5, too. I'm impressed. And somehow, I always missed that Lance wanted JC to tell a story. Too much screaming, I guess. LOL She did miss some stuff, but it's pretty accurate. <.g> I had forgotten the bicycle pump line. LOL And, look, she thought it was Chris who suggested the spanking too, not Justin, which is what everyone else thought. So maybe we're right after all. LOL Anyway, yeah, much fun to reread that and remember. LOL

Lance speaks!

Remember how I asked if Lance EVER spoke during the talking bits of I Want You Back? DAMN, I went to the wrong concert! This is Rhys's account of Buffalo. <.g>

Um. Oh, the story. Chris suggest that since JC wasn't very good at telling the story that Lance, since he's "pretty quiet", tell it instead. Lance sort of looks up and gives Chris this look of amused "you fucker" and Chris is all delighted because Lance is caught off guard. so Lance tells the story, in his rumbly deep voice, and it's all about Nsync and, on Chris's urging, that "Chris Kirkpatrick had magic beans." Lance said Chris's full name, totally amused at this point, and I'm all, TRICKYFISH! and I stopped working. so I think they sung "I Want You Back." ::grins:: then, after, Chris is, like, "My conscience is bothering me. I don't usually have a conscience, but I feel bad for stealing JC's story and giving it to Lance." and he's all, like, it's the principle of the thing. and JC's all, I'm nervous, and someone suggests, probably Chris but maybe JC, Lance sing the last note instead. Everyone cheers. Lance is, like, his face is all, no fucking way, like maybe they're serious or something, but thankfully, they're not. some mention of underpants. JC gets his last note and belts it out. beautiful boy.

<.g> See, Chris agrees with me that Lance is too quiet. But damn, he couldn't have agreed with me one concert before, when I was there? LOL Well, then I wouldn't have gotten Friday's fun and games, so couldn't *someone have said something on Thursday? Woulda made it more fun. <.g>

BTW, Rhys has a new story, too, Sudbury, which is a totally sweet and wonderful JC/Lance. Very happy thing to wake up to. Really, the only reason I'm still awake. I'm considering going to bed now that I finished reading it. <.g>

double crap

I feel so incredibly lousy. I was in class, telling Jill and Meg about the concert, then we got the exams back. I think I got, like, a C-. So I studied for 9 days for the first one and got a C, studied for maybe 1 day this time and got a C-. Sucks. But we were going through the test and I started feeling really icky. So I left at break, with every intention of going to class at 3. Couldn't even move. I've set and reset my alarm so much over the last few hours. LOL I finally managed to get up around 4:45, went down to make myself something to eat. Got as far as spreading the peanut butter on my pita bread before the pita smell made me so nauseous I had to shove everything in the fridge and abandon it. So I crawled back into bed, and I kinda feel better, but my head is all fuzzy and I think I'm hungry, but I'm afraid to find my pita roll again. <.g> And this, my dears, is how I have to take my exam at 7. I can only hope Kathryn and Aekyung are sympathetic and don't make me do too much, because honestly, walking to and from the classroom is going to be horrible enough.

Dude, May 4 is showing up as a moon clycle on the weather channel. That's one week before my birthday. The day after my first final. Six days before my last final. TOO SOON!

Whoa

Dude, don't know HOW I did it, but somehow, I'm on page four here. Barely, but still. That's so exciting! I don't feel like such a failure for not following my schedule! I mean, I didn't follow it, obviously, but work still got done!

Let's not do this again tomorrow.

crap

I suck. I've written two sentences. But I read all of Fun with Numbers. The first part was HYSTERICAL*. I was cracking up, and loved it. Part two was good. Part three was good. Then it started getting all messed up, and by the end, it was the most depressing thing EVER. There's, like, no way for this to end happily, and that sucks. But it's an ongoing series, so I guess you never know.

But, yeah. Two SENTENCES. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

*Okay, so I also hit the site the story was based on....Sex Thermometer. I'll have you know I scored quite high with Lance. <.g> Also pretty well with Jon, slightly less so with Damien.

schedule

Okay, I got my morning all planned out. LOL I'm already up from 7:15, watching "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered," a Buffy ep I haven't seen all of in ages. Wheee! Now I'm going to work on my old EdPsych exam and e-mail Kathryn. Then shower, eat, and water my hydrangea. (Which I may have to bring upstairs somewhere so I remember to do so. LOL I get one every Easter because it's my favorite flower.) Then I write my paper from 9-12, eat lunch, go to class from 1-6, and then have the exam from 7-9.

Gonna be SUCH a fun day, I can tell. LOL

oops, I did it again

Well, I got two and a half pages written. And I grilled my hot dogs. And that was the extent of what I got done. <.g> I ended up watching the last half of XF (which I LOVED), and reading many many many nslash stories. ::blinks:: I have no idea how it go to be midnight. I swear, it was just 9. But, yeah. I guess I kinda got stuff done. But I need to do a lot in the morning, as I have my second EdPsych exam tomorrow evening. Eeek. I have to talk to Kathryn, make sure I'm in her group still. And if we learned anything about the exam on Thursday, since I was home then.

So, should go to bed so I can get up early and get work done. Lots of work. Yes.

slow start

Man, I am getting nothing done so far. LOL Nothing productive, anyway. <.g> I woke up at 10, and got my snooze button to work for the first time in 7 months. Wheee! Watched the end of It Could Happen To You, got out of bed and slowly moved to my computer where I reset my groups to get mail and then reorganized my sidebar. <.g> Unpacked, which is a good thing, and then had breakfast. (Yes, at 12:30.) It's SO yummy...it's Home Run Inn brand "Pizzangna." <.g> It's Chicago-style deep dish pizza, but the deep part is actually lasagna, and then the sauce and sausages are on top. I absolutely adore it. Sounds bizarre, and it is, but it's SO good. I highly recommend it. <.g>

So, yes, that's all I've done so far. Eeek! I have to write a paper by Thursday. 8 pages, and I think I have just under 2 done so far. So I really need to get cracking on that. I figure I'll write two pages a day and hope it works out. Starting Friday, I start writing my 376 paper every day, and that's going to be hell. I hate that class, hate that paper. It, like, doesn't even count for much. If you're borderline, it props you up, basically. There's no grade on it...you get outstanding, good, average, and poor. But you never even find out what you get on it. But I still have to make myself do a good job. I think I have it organized in my mind, which should help. I hope.

Plans for the day...write paper. Grill hotdogs I brought from home (the best EVER...love Casey's hotdogs). Possibly try and type the Choey story I wrote on the train home Wednesday night, revising and tightening it up a bit. It kinda wandered every so often, because I had no clue where it was going at any given point. <.g> Doesn't sound like much, but it will most likely take me all day. LOL

"I have KEYS!"

I can't believe they're OVER! All this waiting, and it went so quickly. LOL

Anyway, second concert was far better than the first, IMO. They were more on. But that's getting ahead of myself. <.g> See, at this concert, they were far more stringent about cameras...people were being sent back to cars, cameras being confiscated, etc. We ended up deciding to bring E's back to the car, but getting mine in. Yeah. I so cannot lie, guys. I am so bad at it. Erin was cracking up at my expressions last night, because I kept trying to chicken out. But I had my camera around my neck under my shirt, and pushed to the side, where my purse was over it. The guy was wanding the front, back, and both sides. Girls directly ahead of us had theirs confiscated, and one girl was sent back to the car. I asked E one last time if it was worth it, she said yes, I whimpered. <.g> So she goes through, okay. I go through, it of course goes off. He opens my purse, looks inside, and I go, "I have keys!" E said I looked about ready to faint, and I was totally blushing. LOL! But he let me through, and I didn't stop shaking for a good 20 minutes. LOL I'm so naughty. <.g> Sad thing is, that's a big deal for me to try and be sneaky. LOL E kept squeaking at me, "I have KEYS!" Never living that one down. It's entered our lexicon, along with the classic from 4th grade, "Erin! It's still FLASHING!" <.g>

So we go wandering around, I buy one more thing for a very cool and sweet online friend who wasn't able to come to any concerts (three friends are either going to love me or hate me. <.g>), and then I head to buy myself a Lance picture. The girl in front of my stops short, and I bump into her, and then walk around her. "Rina?!" It's Aarti! LOL So we chatted for awhile, saw Tony Lucca and Not So Boyband signing stuff (E and I got there at 7, got in at 8, and were thrilled to miss the opening acts <.g>), walked around with her and saw Kate, and then headed to our seats. They were up high, yes, but in the center, towards Lance's side. WHEEEE! LOL

Concert was AWESOME. I got two rolls of pictures...I finished the first roll in the song right after Sailing (I think Celebrity? I was happy, because I don't like that song anyway and didn't want pictures then. <.g.) So E and I manually rewind it, and then we huddle over it. We slip the cover open just a bit and E feels around. "I don't feel any film...." Opens it more...."It's not there!" We squeal loudly and happily, E changes the film and we cheer. Screw the boys, the *camera worked! LOL!

The talky bit was so much better last night. Chris participated more instead of having his chin down, eyes downcast. (Busta died earlier on Thursday....that's so sad, because he couldn't have been more than 6 or so. He was a puppy on the IDMC video. : ( ) He was kinda a little mean, but funny, ragging on JC for telling crappy stories. "Is this a boring story? Are we gonna all want to get up and leave?" "NO, you will not all want to get up and leave, because this is the BEST STORY EVER." LOL And that went on for awhile. Finally, JC was laughing and told him to get the jelly out, because this was going to be SUCH a good story. E and I were cracking up, the moms were coughing hard, the kids were lost, and Justin laughed so hard he had to get off his stool and walk away before coming back. LOL! (side note....does Lance EVER talk alot during that bit? <.sigh> He was almost totally silent, just interjecting a few random comments that mostly got drowned out. I'd say he was like me and has a hard time joining in conversations with multiple people, but as a business man, he should really have that skill. LOL) So yeah, then Justin was like, "That was such a bad story. I think you should be punished for telling such a bad story. What do you think? Should we spank him?" And then Joey did. LOL First time, JC just was surprised, second time, he stumbled forward and glared. <.g> Do I have pictures of that? No, of course not. LOL Oh, well.

So, yes, it was a great deal of fun. My pictures are far, and I kinda forgot to have the zoom all the way on all of them, but I can still tell what they are. For the most part. <.g> Besides, I don't know, I just had so much fun with Erin, and I wouldn't have had as much fun with anyone else...her high pitched screams and her "Okay, now WHO is that?" just made it all so perfect, despite my answer of "The orange blob is Lance!" Plus, of course, how many of my friends would take the time in the concert and change my film for me? <.g> I said that I wanted the concerts to be memorable...believe me, they will be. Thank you, new camera, for taking my intentions of a memorable concert experience and twisting them for your own satisfaction. <.g>

Then after the concert we watched Alicia's puppy tape. OH MY GOD!!! We were in hysterics. She fell off my bed when JC said, "Learn me!" to Rosie. LOL She asked if he did decoupage, and he looked horrified and confused and obviously thinking the wrong thing and was like, "ExCUSE me?!" LOL She was cracking up, told him she would decoupage him after the show if he didn't know what it meant, and to just let his mind wander. LOL! Oh, but the best bit was at the start at the (I assume?) German concert where Chris, like, mounted Justin and started thrusting back. Lovely, lovely image if Justin wasn't jailbait. <.g> Oh, and when Chris splashed water at Lance and Lance jumped on him, and they both fell. <.g> Super cute.

So, that was my concert-going experience. I had SUCH a fun time, and I can only hope that this 8 month hiatus doesn't kill them, and they do another tour. Because I would so definitely do this again if I had the chance. LOL

Puppies

Whoooo! I got my Puppies tape from Alicia this morning!! And it has that lovely 18+ ad that she had scanned on her site. <.giggle> Thank you!!! I can't wait to watch it. : )

So, got my pictures back. LOL! Yeah, first roll is blank. Then daddy accidentally exposed the second roll, so the last few (AKA thrusting Lance and JC during Pop) were blank, and some of the later ones were red and yellow (AKA Lance on the ropes). Erin and I are laughing SO HARD....the only pictures that really came out are the ones from the medley that I'll actually be able to see tonight! LOL Okay, two Lance on the rope ones came out okay...thank goodness he was in orange. And I have several of Justin, since he was the one closest to me at almost everytime. My favorite is of him on the rope, with his legs up over his head. Flexible boy. <.g>

So, E and I read the manual front to back, and are prepared to take better pictures tonight. We learned where the manual rewind is, just in case, and she's bringing her camera with two rolls of film so we can switch off while she changes my film. LOL The zoom is pretty good...I mean, the pics from the medley when they were so far from us came out great. So that's a plus.

We weren't thrilled with the opening acts...Not So Boy Band was okay, but their moves were kinda scary from our angle. Tony Lucca was all right, but he just stood there and bored us. Smashmouth wsa okay, but just kept going on and on and on. (E kept signing "All done! Finished! Go away now!" <.g>) So tonight we won't leave until about 6:30 (we left at 5:15 yesterday, got there at 5:45, waited in the car until 6:05, got out, and waited in the 27 degree cold with the snow falling for an hour. We've learned now), and just walk around during the opening acts.

So, that's the plan for today, and a little more information on the concert itself. Erin and I are still cracking up over the pictures...it's so sad, but so ironical and comical and so very much in the style of my luck. <.giggle> Wish us luck tonight!

why doesn't lance love me?

We're baaa-aack! It was pretty fun, and we were fairly close. I have some fun stories to share, but the funniest part of the night for us was that Lance was freaking avoiding me! He was never on my side of the stage, and even when he was, I would raise my camera and he would scamper behind Justin or run back to the other side. ::shakes head:: Silly boy, I just wanted his picture! Oh, and then there was the lovliness of a new camera (THANK YOU, DADDY!!) that I ddin't know how to use, so I tried to change the film during the Beatles Medley (the only time Lance was in front of me for any length of time, mind you) and kinda ruined the first roll of film. <.sigh> Drat. Oh, well. I'll try again for better pictures tomorrow, even though I'll actually be so much farther. I'm sure the colors will still stand out. <.g>

Oh, and to my friends who couldn't make it...I might have little somethings for you. : )

Time for bed now, as we must be doing this again tomorrow. LOL If any of my pictures come out when I get them developed in the morning, I'll try and share.

the horror

I'm horrified! Martin Sheen is not really the president! <.g> Article from CNN.com LOL

Checking out my hits...hi to the people who searched for "Lance JC tickling" and "Joey Lance tickling." LOL Also, someone actually did a search for the Lance not dating women quote I have in my sidebar...I'm the only site that pops up. <.giggle> To the person looking for information on Dr. Rama Venu, good luck with everything.

Found some fun stories with the tickling searches...I meant to post this about 30 minutes ago. LOL

pop princess

You’re Britney Spears! Face it, ya got it made. You’re sexy and popular, and have tons of people craving to be you. Sure, you’ve got some enemies out there, but you’ve also got a lot of people wishing they were with you. You’re the kind of person who knows you’re hot, and you’re not afraid to go all out to prove it.
What Kind of Pop Princess Are You? Quiz by Jonah

Given my answers, I honestly thought I was going to get Mandy Moore. Maybe it's because I swear when I get hurt? LOL I'm really quite confused here. <.g>

ugh

Went to register at 9am. Got to the lab. Closed. Stupid attendent who should have been there, wasn't. <.sigh> He got there around 9:15, I started to register. Jazz...closed. Public Policy...restricted. Dude, I DID the prerequisite! Ugh. So I'm in beginning tap and American War Movies. But I plan to try and get into the Jazz, at least. If I can't get in this summer or whenever, I'll try and go the first day and see if I can get in that way.

Came back, packed my clothes for the concerts and weekend, reviewed a little bit with Aarti. Went to take the test, felt overwhelming sense of despair. Yeah, it went THAT well. I almost cried at the first 30, rejoiced in the next 25, and sighed over the last 30. But I did the best I could...narrowed down my choices, went with my gut reaction, and didn't go back to change a thing. Hopefully, I pulled off a D. I'm not optimistic.

So, I'm all packed now. Hopefully I'm not forgetting anything...most important things (tickets, money, MI research) are definitely there, so that's what counts. Got one camera ready for the concert (Erin's bringing hers), and waiting to hear if I got a second one so E can actually have her own. <.g> I'm kinda getting more excited as it gets closer, but I probably won't get very excited until I see Erin. <.g>

Pretty much just hanging out until it's time to go to the trainstation. Still kinda bored. Anyone wanna chat? Please? LOL

Hey, my squirrel buddies are back. Wonder if I'll get another squirrel menage a trois for the road.

BORED

I am SO BORED. I am just going out of my mind, and there's no one on to talk to! I've studied, and while I don't know everything, I don't care to learn any more. I'm not doing my story comments because I'll need something to do after the exam. I could study for the exam tomorrow, but I'm not concentrating enough.

I checked ticketmaster out of boredom...I could actually buy some really great seats for Friday night. Like, same section, but a few rows closer to the floor, that I have for Thursday night. But, of course, no credit card. Or money. But I think I will try on Friday at the venue to pick up some better ones. Can't hurt to try. Hit my parents up for money. <.g> Oh, and mom said that our friend Carol and her daughter Jess will be there, in my section, Thursday night. That'll be fun. <.g>

I'm trying to get excited about the concerts, but I'm just too worried about the exams and trying to find a job Thursday morning, and about my grandfather. Because, yeah, he seemed to be doing so good on Sunday. But what if that was just one last kick before saying goodbye? That would suck. And I think I'll at least definitely pass the exam today, tomorrow's really worries me. Because I want to do well, but the effort hasn't been there. Gotta work on that. So I have some moments where I go, "WHEEE! Puppies! Slashy puppies! Only about 55 hours away!!" but the rest of the time I'm just, "Hey, concert soon." Kind of annoying.

Okay, need to go back to studying. Leaving in just under 2 hours.

Easter Sunday

So, did almost no studying Saturday. Dad came and picked me up, went home. We colored Easter eggs...Josh was participating! He totally dunked his eggs. I was so proud of him. Mine had a theme...one had paw prints, one had music notes, one had a kitten and a fish, one said Space Cowboy, and I think there was one more. But then dad did one, and he said I couldn't look until the next morning, but that the yellow one was mine. Curious, I agreed.

Easter morning - got fun stuff in my basket. Continued the theme. LOL On the Line DVD, Lance notebook, nsync mini calendar, along with a Border's gift card. <.g> Very fun. Found my easter eggs...the one dad made? Said "Lance + Rina" with a heart. <.groan> LOL Thanks, dad. <.g> Josh loved his PopOdessey video...I had it cued up to Pop, and he watched a few moments before FFing. Watched a bit of Sapce Cowboy, and kept going. Watched a few seconds of the Game is Over, and kept going. Found Bye Bye Bye and watched it over and over and over. LOL He also got an I Love Lucy video, and Zenon the Zequel, so the VCR was quite busy for awhile. He also found his eggs, and put them into the carton!!! I was so impressed with him.

Then things were pretty stressful for awhile. Dad was cranky because he was trying to clean the flooded basement, mom was cooking dinner, Josh was being a pain, it was all really really not fun. : ( But we got through dinner relatively unscathed, and mom and I headed out.

When we got to the hospital, Po's mom was there with Po's son Bobby and his wife Patty. So we just waved and left again to give them a few minutes to end their visit. We were pretty shocked...he's under 100 pounds. He looked like a concentration camp survivor. It was pretty EEEK. But when we came back, we ran into Bobby and Patty leaving with Grandma. Turns out he was 110% better than the day before. Saturday, he didn't say three words, his eyes were lifeless, and it was very bad. At one point, he woke up out of a deep sleep and became hysterical, saying that his mother wasn't going to come after all. Grammy tried to reassure him, because at that point, we thought she *was coming. But he was so upset, they had to sedate him. And he was right, she didn't come that day. At one point during our visit, the Chaplain came by. Po told him quite clearly that he was glad he had come Sunday and not the day before, because he would have told him that it was the end. But then yesterday, he was alert, the spark was in his eyes, and he was better. Miracles on Easter Sunday. When he was admitted, he had the lowest phosphorus and potassium rates they had ever seen on a man who didn't die within hours. The admitting doctor told him he had the bloodwork and results of a dying man. But he's stubborn, and somehow managed to pull through. We don't know how.

So we went to visit with him, and after the initial shock, it was just Po. We chatted, teased, etc. We stayed for over two hours, which was nice. At one point, my uncle came to talk my grandmother home (her first time home since he was admitted on Wednesday), and mom walked them out, so I got a private visit. It was great...I love him so much. Mom said when she got back, she ducked in the bathroom to wash her hands, and we didn't notice. But she heard the two of us laughing and laughing and his voice sounded so strong again. Her mom had just been telling her how Po hasn't laughed in so long. That was nice to hear.

One thing that was slightly disconcerting is when the nurse came in, we were all chatting, and she asked how many grandchildren he had. Po and I looked at each other, thoughtfully. "Good question," I said, because I really didn't know. He has two children of his own (he's my mom's stepfather), and I only knew of one child Bobby had. But he answered four, and I was thrown into confusion. Me and Josh, obviously. But I thought he counted Aunt Margaret's (mom's sister, so his stepdaughter) kids, Rachel and David as his grandkids, too, and I knew Bobby had at least Michael. So then I wondered if he wasn't counting Rachel, because she's not Aunt Margaret's biological kid, but her stepdaughter. But then he named us...me, Josh, Rachel and David. I told mom about it later, and he has four others...Cindy has two girls and Bobby has two boys. So all we can think is that because he didn't really have contact with Bobby's family for a long time, and Cindy still hasn't even come to visit him, that he really considers the four of us his grandkids. That's kinda sad, even as I'm glad to be counted among them. Heaven knows he's my favorite grandfather. True, the only living one, but still. <.g>

The other disturbing thing was that he, mom and I were chatting while Uncle Marty had Grammy home, and he suddenly stopped talking and said there was something wrong at home, but he didn't know what. Mom was worried, knowing about the day before, and called. Turns out that Uncle Marty had accidentally set off the security alarm while helping my grandmother, and the police came. So he's really getting that sixth sense thing going, which is legendarily found in people nearing death. So that's kinda scary. But it was great seeing him, and I'll be back next Saturday to show off concert pictures. He's thrilled. ; ) He and mom have banded together in their "Lance looks like a girl" campaign. LOL I keep trying to tell them that he's much more masculine than he was when he joined, but they don't believe me. LOL

Speaking of mom and nsync...I had made a new cassette nysnc mix for the car rides home, and brought it with for the drive to the hospital. I had hit a few wrong numbers when programming, and needed to see what was actually on it. LOL But I think she was enjoying herself...she was singing along every so often, and by the ride home, she could tell apart JC and Justin singing. I was impressed. LOL

So, yeah we got home, and I got in about 30 minutes of studying...my only studying time all weekend. <.sigh> I'm so going to fail. Except maybe not, because as I was reviewing, things actually looked familiar. <.shrug> Who knows. After Josh went to bed, I popped in On the Line and watched deleted scenes and outtakes and alternate scenes. I'm sad...they cut out Joey kissing Lance! That so would have made the movie for me. And they cut out the scene were GQ tells Lance to put up posters and stuff, so that his scene by the copier doesn't come so suddenly (plus, Lance played tic-tac-toe against a chicken, and lost, and that was just adorable. "What, did this chicken go to YALE?"). Oh, and the scene were Brady gets his idea to send Julie out with Kevin originally was shot with the two of them in bed together, which makes the scene make much more sense to me. The words and her annoyance and kisses fit more, and it says more about their relationship. But then I brought it downstairs and watched some with my parents. My dad gave up about 20 minutes in, but mom watched 80% of it...we skipped the middle. LOL She thinks Joey was great, but can't believe how bad the movie really was. <.g>

Then today, dad and I left at 9am, dropped some clothes off at the hospital for my grandmother (she wasn't prepared for a long hospital stay, and kept mooching clothes off of Po's visitors. Mom ended up going home wearing only a wool blazer, as grammy had stolen her sweater. She also stole my sweater I was using as a jacket, so I was really cold running to the car. LOL), got here at 12:30, I left for class at 12:40, and got back here at 6. It's been a loooooooooong day, and I still need to study. I am in hell.

But the way I look at it, one test will not break my grade. If I do well on everything else, like I have been, it'll only be a temporary dip. So I'm not overly worried, just moderately so. <.g> But still....must study. <.sigh>

nslash

This is more fun than typing about my weekend. (Which I'm doing in another window. LOL) From Suzanne:

1. Who was the first author you read in NSlash?
Matthew Time. For many months, he was the only one I read.

2. What was the first story you read, if you remember that?
I'm not sure. I think it was the dialogue one with Justin and Chris chatting to each other while Justin was trying to do an online chat, that someone (who shall remain nameless lest she kill me) recommended. <.g>

3. What was your initial reaction to slash? To NSYNC? To NSlash?
*Slash: I think my first slash was Buffy. I was just getting to know the characters, joined UCSL, and saw this slash stuff. I read, I liked, all was well. <.g>
*NSYNC: I first heard nsync junior year in HS, on Radio Disney. Tearin' Up my Heart and later, God Must Have Spent. I adored TUMH. I was horrified when I learned who sang it. I had recently given in to BSB, and that was enough. But it didn't take long for me to give in and buy the CD for those two songs, although I rarely listened to it.
*Nslash: I was pretty horrified at first. I am so against RPFic. I ended contact with people who advocated and wrote David Duchovny/Gillian Anderson stories. It disgusted me. Then I discovered Matthew Time's Buffy and ER fics, and fell in love with him. When I saw he had boyband slash, I pointed it out to my roommate, Jen, in disgust. She was pretty interested, pulled over her chair, and we read BSB slash aloud to each other. <.g> I still wasn't sold, though. Then this year, when Kate had me listening to nsync, I teasingly told her about Matthew's fic. I swear, I meant nothing by it...I was still horrified by the thought of RPS. But that started our slide into the world of nsync fic - he showed us that there was fic out there, slash and het. What can I say, Matthew is very talented. And he linked to talented people, and I kept finding more and more good authors. And while I'm still against RPF and RPS, somehow boybands are excluded from this. The only thing I can think of is that actors have characters to write about, while the boyband's images is equivalent to characters. <.shrug> I don't know.

4. Who is your "favorite"?
Lance. Although I really like all of them as a group.

5. What is your OneTruePairing? (GSF counts)
I kinda love all 11. I'm not picky, I'll read anything if it's well written. Right now, I have a thing for Lambs (Justin/Lance), which I don't even buy. I guess I'm mostly all about the JoLa (Joey/Lance) and Basez (Lance/JC). But really, love 'em all.
